Swansfield Stables intro pix

Swansfield Stables lies on the edge of the historic market town of Alnwick, a ten minute walk to the centre and a short drive out to the sea in one direction and beautiful, open countryside in the other.

The Stables, designed, we believe, by 19th Century Newcastle architect John Dobson, is now our family home and we have converted part of the property into two year-round lets, with an extra en suite double room available, which we hope will offer something a little different. The Cart Shed and the Studio can be booked separately or together, depending on the size of your party.

Both properties have been designed to a high specification and were converted by local builders. They are well insulated and are heated by a wood pellet biomass boiler and are partially powered by solar electricity.

Both look out over a cobbled courtyard with outdoor dining spaces, a BBQ and a wood fired pizza oven, both for use by guests on request. Each has its own private outdoor sitting area next to our vegetable and fruit gardens and poly-tunnel. The views from the garden across the surrounding countryside are stunning and, when the light is right, you can see the sea in the distance.
